Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants and are super blood cleaners. For example when you eat carrots, your body may absorb only a small percentage of it's nutrients, however when you drink it's juice your body absorbs almost all of the nutrients. They help heal, repair, and nourish damaged and weakened cells in our body.
When beginning healthy juicing, the greener the vegetables the more nutritionally valuable they are. Seeds and nuts can be added as well. They contain protein and fat that is needed to fuel your body. They also assist with a healthy immune system and contain important amino acids for the brain.
If you have not purchased organic fruit and vegetables you must soak the produce to remove any toxins before beginning. When using vegetables don't hesitate to use stems and leaves, except for carrot and rhubarb greens as they contain toxic substances. Because the skins of oranges and grapefruits contain a toxic substance that should not be consumed in large quantities and are somewhat bitter, it is best to peel these fruits before beginning. However the white pithy part of the fruit contains valuable bioflavonoids and vitamin C.
Drinking carrot juice is one of the most popular ways that you can provide a boost to your diet. Frequently referred to as the miracle juice, due to the carrot juices many healthful benefits, many people around the world have seen tremendous health improvements from drinking carrot juice on a regular basics. Not only is it delicious on it's own, it is ideal to combine with other juices to make a drink the whole family can enjoy. It has high levels of calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium, sodium phosphorous, chlorine, sulphur, and iron. Below is a picture of our three year old grandson Karver, and I , he is enjoying some fresh vegetable juice that "Poppa" just made for us. ( He has the juice lip, that traditionally goes with milk, but in our home it's juice!) He loves our juice and we love to have him consume it knowing he is getting all that goodness in one tiny glass full.

Juicing Recipes To Share
The basic of most recipes begins with carrots and other such vegetables such as beets are added and an apple for sweetness.
Below I will share a few of our favourite recipes for healthy juicing.
Carrot Cocktail
4 large carrots
2 small beets
2 apples
1 lemon ( peel left on)
3-4 celery stalks
Put the above ingredients through your juicer, making sure to save the carrot pulp for carrot and onion crackers, and
Healthy Carrot Muffins
Spring Tonic
Handful of parsley
4 carrots
1 garlic clove
2 stalks of celery
bunch up parsley and push through juicer with carrots
Put the following ingredients through your juicer, refridgerate and enjoy.
Christmas Cocktail
2 apples
1 large bunch of grapes
1 lemon wedge
1 kiwi
Put the above through your juicer, chill any leftovers. Should be used up within a day of making. Fresh is ALWAYS better. When healthy juicing is concerned.
Immune Builder
Handful of kale
I garlic clove
3 stalks of celery
5 carrots
1 large beet
Put the above ingredients through your juicer, an excellent way to boost your immune system.
