Raw Eating And Our Carbon Footprint

Your carbon footprint can be reduced greatly with a few life style changes. Let me show you how!

Research has shown that 20 vegetarians can live on the same farm land that is required to feed just one meat eater. Imagine that!

A study revealed that animal factory farming is responsible for over 50% of all greenhouse gases on the planet. This number exceeds the global warming that is contributed through cars, planes, and trains worldwide combined!

Though most people choices for consuming a mostly raw diet is to renew their health, or lose weight. But one thing that often gets overlooked is the environmental impact raw eating has on our planet. The packaging required for meat products and processed foods is unbelievable. The cost of transportation to get it from here to there is astonishing. Maintaining a vegan raw food diet with small amounts of cooked foods involved has quite the opposite effect on our environment. Largely made up of fresh produce, seeds, and nuts, raw foodies rely heavily on fresh produce. Because of this shopping locally or growing your own is quite common, thus reducing your carbon footprint substantially.

We have noticed a remarkable difference in our amount of garbage we have now. In fact, a large majority of our consumption of food ends up in our compost bucket. And the rest ( which is very little indeed) is recycled.

With a raw food diet, there is virtually no waste from plastics and composite materials. No toxins are used to produce our foods. And we can usually in the growing seasons anyway, use the “100 Mile” rule and shop close to home, resulting in less use of our vehicles. Or even better then that, shop for free in our own backyards! Either way reducing our carbon footprint drastically!

So the evidence is here, on one way that you can help to save our planet, and help to save your health at the same time. Reducing our carbon footprint has never been more important then it is today!
